I just love photographing a family in a place that already holds so much of their story.
This Blue Hill maternity photography session was one of those experiences that reminds me why I do this work—not just as a photographer, but as a mother who understands how fleeting and emotional these seasons of life truly are.
This sweet couple traveled from out of state to spend time at their family’s cozy oceanfront cottage in Blue Hill, a place filled with years of memories, laughter, and tradition. With their second baby on the way and their toddler right by their side, they wanted to document this chapter somewhere that felt deeply personal and familiar.

Blue Hill Maternity Photography at a Family Cottage
Their family cottage sits directly on the ocean, complete with a private dock overlooking the water. We began the session right there, surrounded by soft coastal light and the gentle sounds of the sea.
These early moments felt quiet and unhurried. Their toddler explored the dock, occasionally running back for reassurance and cuddles—those small interactions that so perfectly reflect life with a growing family. As a mother, I know how tender this season can feel. You’re excited to welcome a new baby while also holding onto the rhythm you’ve built with your first child.

From the dock, we wandered along the wooded path behind the cottage and down the driveway, allowing their toddler to lead the way. These are often my favorite moments—when children feel free to move, explore, and simply be themselves.
